Appointed to N.O.P.D. September 1961 and assigned to the Police
Academy as a Recruit.
Upon completion of the academy, assigned to the third District
as a
Patrol Officer, Acting Desk Sergeant and Doorman, until 1969.
In 1969 was transferred to the Mounted Division and worked
on horseback in City Park, Audubon Park and the Old Beach
area on Lakeshore Drive. Rode in Mardi Gras Parades, along
parade routes as security behind the crowds, and on Bourbon
Street for crowd control. During the assignment in the Mounted
division, worked as a Stableman taking care of the horses.
In 1970, Graduated from first Mounted Seminar held in Washington
D.C.
September 1981, retired from N.O.P.D. with 20 years of service.
